6th Annual East L.A. Nacimiento Tour
East Los Angeles, California

Building Nativity scenes is an old tradition thousands of Christians throughout the world practice every year.  People build Nacimientos in many different styles but share common themes and figures in their renditions of the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.  They often accompany the Christmas tree in most East Los Angeles homes.

This is an on-line exhibit and self-guided tour that documents and shares the variety of Nativity scenes built mainly by residents of East Los Angeles and built in public display.

Included in this 2006 – 2007 Exhibit is a map that charts the locations of sites up this year.  This map may work as a guide for people willing to take a self-guided auto or bike tour.

There are over two dozen entries in this Exhibit.

This Exhibit is an effort to document and bring special recognition to people that put effort in creating thoughtful and sometimes intricate displays for public appreciation.  These artistic expressions contribute to the culture living in Los Angeles .

Maps and images to be posted.
